Super Bowl 2012 Prop Bets: Fun For The Whole Family
While it is disheartening to watch the Super Bowl without the 49ers involved, there is still football to be played, which means one more chance to win some money. While the Super Bowl is a big deal, two things arguably bigger than the game itself are Super Bowl commercials and Super Bowl gambling.
Jim Harbaugh Named NFL Coach Of The Year And In Other News, The Sun Rises
In the least surprising news since the sun coming up this morning (I suppose the far north might be an exception of that in the dead of winter), 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was named the AP NFL Coach of the Year. Harbaugh is the first rookie coach to claim the award since Falcons head coach Mike Smith in 2008.
Pro Football Hall Of Fame: Eddie DeBartolo, Roger Craig Face Tough 2013 Candidates
49ers legendary owner Eddie DeBartolo and former linebacker/defensive end Charles Haley both came up short yesterday in their bids for entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. DeBartolo made his first appearance as one of the Final 15, but he did not make it to the first cut to ten. Haley made the cut to ten, but did not make the next cut to five.
Golden Nuggets: NFL Awards Provide Less-Than-Stellar Results
Good morning everyone. Yesterday, the NFL announced its awards, to much hilarity. There are so many odd things that don't make any sense, from John Fox receiving two votes for coach of the year and Terrell Suggs winning the defensive player of the year, but I will say that, yes, the Aldon Smith snub for defensive rookie of the year does anger me. Smith is clearly a better pass rusher and made a bigger impact overall because of it. I bet if he'd gotten half a sack more, he'd have won the award. I guess it's just as well that I think most of these awards are a joke.
